Bespoke Wedding Ceremonies

It is a big day for you both and a very important one! Together we can create a ceremony that will bring you and your loved ones a day to cherish forever.

Legally Recognised Weddings & Rituals

Firstly, Congratulations to you both!

Bringing two people together in love and creating a beautiful ceremony for your special day is something that I take great pride in. My wish is to represent you both and honour your beliefs and values.  Weddings can be stressful, especially the ceremony and it’s my job to make sure all you have to worry about is enjoying the day. Every relationship is unique and it is important that the ceremony represents that. It’s a privilege to accompany you on the journey towards marriage and it’s an honour to be part of your special day. There are many enhancements for you to choose from and I would be very happy to meet with you both in person or over zoom to go through all the options.

Ceremony Enhancements that you may choose from...

Candle Ceremony

Couples may choose to light a Unity Candle during their ceremony to represent their union. Candles can also be used to remember absent family and friends or to symbolise children and the joining together of two families.

Handfasting ceremony

A traditional Celtic handfasting ceremony is one of the oldest matrimonial traditions. The modern expressions, “tying the knot,” “bonds of matrimony” and “hand in marriage” all hail from ancient traditions of wrapping the bride’s and groom’s wrists with cords. This ritual is the source of the expression ‘to tie the knot’.

Sand Ceremony

You can symbolise your union through marriage by incorporating a “sand ceremony” into your civil wedding/partnership. During this part of the ceremony the bride and groom pour two vessels of sand together into a third vessel, to represent the coming together of their lives. It is impossible to separate these grains of sand once they have joined together which symbolises the unity and eternity of your marriage. Sand can be used from different locations which may hold a particular significance for the bride and groom. Alternately coloured sands may be used to provide a reminder of the ceremony.

Love letter & Wine Box Ceremony

This box contains a bottle of wine, two glasses, and a love letter from each to the other.  The letters describe the good qualities they find in one another, the reasons they fell in love, and their reasons for choosing to marry. The letters are sealed in individual envelopes and they have not seen what the other has written. You have created your very own “romantic” time capsule to be opened on your 5th wedding anniversary and often couples like to keep the box in a place of honour and prominently displayed in your home as a constant reminder of your commitment to each other.
